Is there an age restriction on renting?
At Hilton Rental we can hire cars and vans to drivers between the ages of 23 and 70.
Drivers under the age of 25 must have held their licence for at least 2 years and those over for at least 1 year.
What Identification Documentation (ID) do I need to hire a vehicle?
You must hold a valid UK driver’s licence for at least one year. You must also know your National Insurance number so we can perform a licence check. Alternatively you can perform the check yourself here: View or share your driving licence information - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
You must have a valid form of payment in the name of the driver. In addition to the above, you are required to bring two proofs of address from the last three months.
Can I still hire if I have points on my licence?
In most cases this won't be a problem.
However, there are certain point codes that will prevent you from being able to hire and if you have more than 6 points on your licence this will also mean we can't hire to you.
Can I add an additional driver?
While it does add a small cost we can always add additional drivers, which makes longer journeys often more convenient, safer and less stressful. We of course ask that any additional driver holds a valid driving licence and have done for at least a year (depending on age and vehicle). We also ask that the driver(s) be present during vehicle pick-up so we can check the licence. If this is not possible on the day you can pop into our branch with the additional driver and validate them beforehand.
Are there any extra fees?
There are additional fees for extra drivers, using toll roads and charge areas such as the London congestion zone. You can also opt to lower your insurance excess by paying £10 collision damage waiver (cdw) per day.
We take a pre-authorisation on a valid credit or debit card for the insurance excess amount.

Can I leave a car at your premises while I rent?
There is limited parking at our offices but you are welcome to park up if we have a space available. Owners vehicles are left entirely at your own risk.
